While we know Instagram is the go-to platform for stylists, Facebook is another powerful tool for you to showcase your talents. Facebook Business has many features that are perfect for salons and stylists to connect with potential clients. Take them from online to in your chair!
Set Up A Business Account
Using Facebook Business as a stylist might seem overwhelming. It’s really tempting to just start posting business related stuff from your personal Facebook account. It’s what you know. You probably already have one, so it’s just so easy. But resist that temptation.
You’re a business owner, so reflect that with a business profile. There are tons of extra features not available on the regular personal profile. (We’ll go into those later.) Plus, going with a Facebook Business page makes it easier for potential clients to find out more about you. With a personal page, they would have to send you a friend request and wait for you to respond. The business page makes it super easy. They just hit the “follow” button and that’s it!
Tip: If you’ve already started posting business info on a personal page, you can easily convert it over to a Facebook business page.
Show Off What You Do
Showing off what you do doesn’t just mean post awesome hair pics! (Though you should still do that, too, obviously.) With a business profile, you can add a “Services” tab that shows your menu of what your salon offers. And don’t shy away from prices. It may seem weird at first, but it gives customers a clear idea of what to expect. And clear expectations are one of the keys of great customer service. Also consider using this section to demonstrate what you specialize in.
Make Booking Easier
Another one of those business-only perks is making a button on your page. The page button hangs out at the top of the page on mobile and desktop and is an easy direct way to get potential clients to reach out. If your salon has online booking, you can make your button “Book Now”. Or if you prefer clients call to make an appointment, you can make the button “Call Now”. Either way, it’s in the perfect location to get customers to contact you.
Another way to engage with customers is to turn on automatic replies on your business Facebook Messenger. You can set up frequently asked questions about your business that auto-populate into Messenger. These will automatically open on a desktop computer or along the bottom of the screen on a phone. It shows that you’re open to interacting with potential customers, and it’s a low-key, stress-free way for people to find out more about your business.
While Instagram is more visually appealing, Facebook Business is still a powerful tool to connect people! It’s the original social media network for a reason. By using the Facebook Business tools, stylists can connect with potential customers and turn them into loyal clients.
